Nature Goes Mechanical is a project where we had to create a piece where we took something from nature and mad it look mechanical using things like screws and metal. I had two original ideas that I really thought were creative. My first idea was to draw a forest with trees that were part TV and if you looked at the roots they would be cable wires but others thought it needed more to it so it was back to the drawing board. My second idea was to draw or paint a pond with glowing water, glowing flowers made out of metal, and lily pads that were solar panels. Others also thought that that idea needed more. I finally consulted in one of my friends in class and he thought to combine the ideas together. He drew a quick sketch and it worked really well so I decided to use it. I think the final outcome of this piece is a 3.9 stars. My shading in everything came out how I wanted it to and I like how well the glow of the pond was created but I feel it could be stronger. Something else that could use more improvement is the background. The background has a lot of space and I didn't know what to fill it with so it looks a little empty. Although those are some weak spots the colors in the picture all complement each other pretty well which makes me pretty happy. Overall, this picture is nice but could still use some more work.
