Dear Reader,
Let me tell you about my crazy semester of Art 4. This has hands down been one of the most challenging art classes I have taken in high school but, besides all of the writing we had to complete, it's all been worth it. This class has helped me grow by stretching how far I can go with my art. It has brought out a lot of realism in the way I create things. I did a lot more shading than I've ever really done in any other class. I've also learned how to incorporate colors that we don't see into a lot of my pieces, which a lot of the time can make a project really pop. Throughout the semester, I wasn't too big of a fan of the themes we were given but I was a fan of some of the final results that I had brought about. For example, some of my favorite pieces that I had completed were my everyday object project and also my prisma color project. Both of those pieces came out very great. I think it was because I had more effort in the beginning of the year. Things that challenged me were whenever I didn't like a theme things became very frustrating to accomplish. Sometimes you also come up with ideas and they get shot down, which can make the whole situation even more frustrating because you want things to get done and yet you have nothing to work with but, I pushed through and created something even if I didn't like it that much. Something I wish I was talented in was time management and being productive. In this class, it was very hard to complete my art because I always felt like I should be doing some other homework that I had assigned and other times I was just very tired and never got anything finished. Being great with time management and being productive would have helped me get a lot more done with a lot more effort put into everything. Something I do wish I could have done more of is illustrating. I didn't get to do a lot of it and wish I got to see what I could have done with my style of illustration.
I have always loved being in art in all of my years of high school. Every class has taught me different things each time around. To future artists who are deciding whether to take this class, I would tell them to sign up for sure. Art 4 did not only change me as an artist, it also changed me as a person. It gave me a whole new group of friends that I have fun with. It also made me look even closer to see the good and bad sides of everything I look at. This class has also made me more involved in school. This semester I joined NAHS and I have to say it is a lot of fun. Although, this journey has been a challenging one it has definitely changed me for the better.
