Interior spaces is a unit about the inside of anything, but it is shown in a creative way. When i planned this project I wanted to do something crazy like a mug with eyeballs in it or a dishwasher with fish swimming inside. I decided to do a motel with fish swimming in the windows. I chose this idea because I thought the perspective was really interesting but ,as it turns out, there were a lot of areas with negative space and it was very challenging to fill them I did not know what to do with them. My process when making my motel hallway was to sketch out the hallway first, then I painted it in watercolor, and lastly I outlined it in my preffered drawing tool. Some of my challenges as I said was the negative space, but also coloring this piece was just as challenging. I didn't know what to color anything. I just started to lay colors down, which sucked because I don't like to do that a lot. I think something that also made this project difficult was my lack of motivation. I din't have much motivation in finishing this project and I don't why. I think next time I need to choose to do something that I think is more interesting and that I will enjoy doing more. My successes in this project were my fish and the water design. I am proud that my fish came out so well. I looked up fish and drew them just to make them look really good and I'm glad that paid off. I also looked up a water design because I wanted that "Chinese water art" look for the water and that also came out really well which makes me really glad. During this unit I learned how to keep working even if you don't like what you're doing or have no motivation. I think my drawing skills grew because I had drew actual real looking fish for the first time and they llok pretty good to me.
